Abstract

40 people on the point of death, each coming from a different moment of the century, meet in a place beyond time and space. Their fate unknown, those lost souls seem to be connected by an invisible thread that brought them together in this limbo. Questioning why they are there and what brought them together, they will need to find a way out in order to get back to their life... or to a completely new one. “Afterlife” was a strong, dramatic larp aimed at leading participants to reflect on ethical, philosophical, moral, and personal questions. Those included the escape from reality and one’s own roles, the concept of what is “normal,” and loss and how they’re intertwined, hope and its price, and the relativity of right and wrong. Fate, and the long-term effects of personal choices, also played an important role in the larp.
