Abstract

“On stage!” is an interactive larp played in a theatre, which combines role-playing and narrative games. It allows its participants to play characters and stories from popular fiction and to develop their story in new and different directions. Its “Vox populi” version, which we played this time, calls in on the audience to decide on the turning points of the plot, thus making this event a kind of impro method with the involvement of the public. Two scenarios were played: ”Star Wars: A New Hope” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Entrance was free with limited seats, and in fact, some fifty people took part in the experience besides the 14 “players-actors”, by voting from the auditorium or actually getting on stage. “On stage” was one of the few 2020 larp where we didn’t have to care about social distancing and masks, and the last before the pandemic. The other events of the year, which we announced from the stage that night, were either postponed or converted into laogs.
