Abstract

Stranger Town: Quarantine is the second episode of the blockbuster larp trilogy set in the American small town of the 1980s. November 1984, the government has quarantined the town of Hamlin without giving any explanation for what is happening. Until a series of inexplicable events escape the authorities’ cover-ups: research that goes beyond the limits of ethics, unexpected pregnancies and alien-looking fetuses, mysterious experiments on the townspeople, Russian spies infiltrating the town, a Spetsnaz raid, the sensational archaeological discoveries in the nearby Wabanaki burial ground. And then the special bond that young Timmy Logan has established with the “people of the sky” who send the Earth an ominous warning: “They are coming”. Style and techniques used were 360° illusion, pre-generated characters, pre-larp workshop, play to lose, safewords, characters’ duties, fate play, honor system, scene domination, Fear is contagious, Like a movie, Memento mori.
