The Scar

“The Scar”, inspired by the famous “Mad about the boy” larp, is set in a dystopian world where, due to an inexplicable event, thirty years ago all male human population was completely wiped out. The remaining human females had to enforce drastic measures to ensure the survival of civilization, and even though the world slowly recovered from the demographic plummet that followed the event, now just about one in ten thousand babies born is a male. The larp takes place in a dystopic 2016, during a standard screening designed to select possible candidates for maternity and sort the available males. During this process, a new page of humanity’s future will be written. “The Scar” is a larp about gender identity, maternity, and sexuality, and includes interesting ramifications such as prejudices connected to biological gender, same-sex parenting, and boundaries between motherhood as a “right” and motherhood as a “duty”, in a society where pregnancy is mandatory and abortion is a crime.
