Via Quattro Fontane (Run 1)

Genre: Drama
Format: edu larp

Abstract
VIA QUATTRO FONTANE is an edu-larp inspired by the aftermath of the Via Rasella attack in 1944 in Rome, when members of the Italian Resistance attacked a Nazi battalion in the city centre. As a form of immediate reprisal, the Nazi-fascists killed 335 people in a cave near Via Ardeatina. Several students attending different high schools in Rome were invited to play two kinds of characters: various tenants living, at the time of the attack, in a fictional building located near via Rasella and a group of Nazi-Fascists looking for people to use as scapegoats in what became known as “The Fosse Ardeatine Massacre.” During the larp, students listened to historical testimonies taken from members of marginalised groups, who were persecuted by the regime and killed in the massacre. Moreover, the students were able to meet the Fiuman Jewish survivor Gianni Polgar, who experienced the raid on the Roman Ghetto.
