Abstract

“INSOMNIA” is a larp event set in contemporary America that deals with topics like coercion and morality, inspired by the famous Stanford Experiment. The larp aimed to have a strong impact on players, both physically and psychologically, and developed through an action-thriller plot centered around a scientific project that was deeply intertwined with human drama. High-pressure situations put characters under continuous stress, presenting them with choices that would eventually lead to a change in their own sense of morality. Players were divided into different groups, each of them constantly put against the others. Pre-game interviews and an investigative element inside the larp (closed rooms with puzzles to be solved by groups of players) further enhanced the overall experience.
