1630 is a historical larp set in the XVII century, dealing with a dark period of European history as well as with topics that recall our contemporary reality. Through a full WYSIWYG approach (in compliance with the Southern Way / New Italian larp style), the game takes place in a century of discoveries and enthusiasm, but also famine, war, and plagues. Characters are the inhabitants of Poggio de’ Corvi, a small village that managed to hide from the rest of the world, where daily life and traditions will be disturbed by a wind of change. The plague is knocking on their doors, and the villagers want to defend themselves: whatever the cost. 1630 also featured the shared creation of the village history, relationships, and rumors: for two months before the larp, using an online platform, players were allowed to detail the gameworld and their characters themselves.
