Abstract

“Radicato nella Notte” (Rooted into the Night) was the main summer event of the 2019 “Bardi di Sadirvan” campaign. For this second event, the crew underwent a substantial overhaul, featuring both new recruits and veterans. As the location required some preparatory work, many players arrived on site the day before to help with the setup and prepare their in-game camps. The seemingly simple plot hook involved a rescue attempt of an imprisoned noble, but the story quickly evolved into something more mysterious and dark. Over the course of three days, the investigation unfolded, culminating on the final night in a showdown between darkness and light. Despite starting with a festive vibe, the larp explored themes such as the fear of the stranger, PTSD, and the compromises between the individual and the collectivity.
