Abstract

“Sortilegio” was a fantasy larp by Terre Spezzate, inspired by the Arthurian cycle. Uther is fighting to unite Britain while a triad of witches scheme against him. Meanwhile: a tournament to crown a Champion, a political marriage, Merlin in search of an apprentice, the Lady of the Lake needs to be awoken, a monster has to be fought. Budget allowed for high-quality special effects and props, like standards and banners, torches and braziers, to decorate the castle and its medieval banquet. Down in the dungeons the Lady awaited in an underground pool, surrounded by mystic fog. A high level of care was devoted to costumes too, including armors. The event was divided in three episodes: the first one was the tournament and its spectacular duels. The second had its climax in a fight between paladins and rebels. The third concluded the fairy tale: Excalibur was found and placed again within the rock. Music and white smoke marked the passage between an episode and the next one.
